How we work
-
Free technical visit · 1-2h, no commitment
We come to your roof to verify orientation, shading, structure and available space for panels. Take measurements and photos.
-
Technical proposal + quote · 3-5 days
We send you the technical design (which panels, which inverter, which structure, where they go) + itemised quote component by component with VAT 21% visible.
-
Sign + paperwork prep · 1-2 weeks
If you accept, we sign the contract. Request updated electrical certificate from your electrician (if missing). Start technical report.
-
Physical installation · 1-3 days by size
Team of 2-3 installers mounts panels, structure, inverter and wiring. Your home doesn't lose power — only minutes of cut for panel connection.
-
Legalisation · 30-45 days
We submit technical report + CIE to industry. Request connection with E-Distribución. Once approved (distributor timing), system operational.
-
Self-consumption + monitoring · 1 week post-connection
We register you as self-consumer with surplus compensation (RD 244/2019). Configure your monitoring app. Review first post-solar bill with you.

Frequently asked questions
How long from signing to a working installation?
Between 30 and 60 days. Physical install is 1-3 days. The rest is legalisation: industry + E-Distribución. Timing is set by the distributor, not us.
Do I need a building permit to put solar panels on my roof?
In most municipalities of Málaga, a responsible declaration or prior communication suffices (no licence). We handle this as part of standard procedure. In historic or heritage-protected zones, a licence may be required — we tell you in the technical visit.
What warranty do you provide on the installation?
Manufacturer panel warranty: 25 years product + 25 years yield ≥80% (Tier-1 standard). Inverter by brand: Huawei/Sungrow ~10 years, Fronius ~10 years. Labour: 2 years legal minimum (RDL 1/2007). All in writing in the contract.
What if the inverter fails in year 5?
Manufacturer warranty covers equipment replacement. We handle the RMA and reinstall the new inverter. If the inverter were out of warranty, we give you a quote for replacement (typically around 800 to 2000€ depending on model).
Do I get the battery now or add it later?
If you have high night-time consumption (electric boiler, EV, 24h pool pump), battery from the start amortises better. If your consumption is mostly daytime, wait for first-year real data and decide. The inverter we install is usually hybrid — it accepts retrofit battery later without replacement.
Do panels work in winter or under clouds?
Yes. They produce less in December than July in Málaga (about a third) but they produce. Cloudy days generate a smaller fraction of sunny-day output. PVGIS calculates the annual average accounting for all this — the 1,652 kWh/kWp/year already includes winter.
What about a second home where I'm not year-round?
Works perfectly. Surpluses you don't consume are exported to grid and compensated on bill (RD 244/2019). Weekend homes on the Costa del Sol are excellent candidates — high production + low consumption = near-zero bill.
Solar Master designs, installs and legalises photovoltaic systems for detached homes across the 25 main municipalities of the province — from Marbella and Fuengirola on the Western Costa del Sol to Ronda and Antequera inland. We work up to the legal limit of 10 kWp set by RD 477/2021 for residential self-consumption — exactly what a large detached home on the Costa del Sol typically needs.
Components we install
We work with verifiable Tier-1 brands — meaning they are on the Bloomberg New Energy Finance Tier-1 list (manufacturer financial stability to honour long warranties).
- Panels: Trina Solar Vertex, JA Solar JAM72S30, LONGi Hi-MO — high-efficiency monocrystalline models with 25 years product warranty and minimum 80% yield.
- Inverters: Huawei SUN2000, Sungrow SH-RT, Fronius Symo GEN24 — all hybrid (accept future battery without replacement).
- Structure: anodised aluminium type K2 or equivalent, with structural warranty for coastal salt environments.
The honest price
Ranges in the table above assume a typical detached home on the Costa del Sol with accessible roof and standard consumption. What moves the price within the range:
- Roof type: tiled pitched (faster) vs flat (needs ballast or anchoring).
- Access: scaffolding or crane needed = separate cost.
- Partial shading: chimney or neighbour tree shading → per-panel optimisers raise cost but recover output.
- Distributor: paperwork cost with E-Distribución is fixed by us, but administrative fees are set by Industry.

What happens after installation
Once your system is connected and operational, we offer annual maintenance — not mandatory, but it’s what keeps output near optimal across the lifetime of the system (accumulated dirt and adjacent vegetation reduce output if not managed).
If later you want to add battery or expand power, you have the dedicated batteries and expansion service — the hybrid inverter we install in the base system allows it without replacement.
And if you have quotes from other companies and want a technical second opinion before signing with anyone, that’s exactly the advice and second opinion service — no obligation to choose us afterwards.
